This page is probably the most important in your exploration of the Middle East.  Valid & Relevant Courses draw more from recent history but will certainly point you to  pertinant information from ancient history  as needed.  Most sample pages have about half the links contained in the course and lack the maps and images. This is meant to be a small taste of what's to come.
Understanding the Middle East
Background Information

World History: Continuity and Change by William Travis Hanes III is the only World History Text that WhatsoeverThings recommends.  It is not required but highly recommended.  Find out why here.

A Brief History
This is found on the MidEast Web site which seems
from their news page to be pro Islam but this brief history is not bias at all.

Jews
Great PBS site!

Empires
Written by a Christian very much into prophecy but this brief  history of empires is purely factual, nothing preachy or speculative.

Islam
Very good history of Islam on the MidEast Web page.

Crusades
Great site with maps and chronologies.  Also check out the book by the Caner brothers about the crusades. These former Muslims are Christian scholars I caught on the John Ankerburg show.

Israel
A brief history since the British Mandate
