Arthur Clarence Skog, 55 a life-long resident of Keokuk and this community, died at six o’clock Monday evening at his home on the Main street road near the Ambrosia Lane. Mr. Skog, a friendly, considerate man, had suffered a paralytic stroke nearly four years ago and had borne his long suffering and illness with admirable patience and fortitude.
A son of John and Augusta Moander Skog, he was born in Keokuk on May 3, 1890, and after reaching adulthood he became a registered pharmacist, working for a number of years at both the Kiedaisch and Engelhardt drug stores here. Later he became a salesman.
Mr. Skog was married at Quincy, Illinois on March 22, 1911, to Pansy Young who survives along with one son, John M. Skog; two grandchildren, and his stepmother, Mrs. Amanda Skog of Montrose. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister who died in infancy.
Mr. Skog was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a member of Eagle Lodge No. 12, A. F. and A. M.
The Schmidt Memorial home was in charge of arrangement with burial in the Montrose cemetery.
