"It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Joe Nolan at his Cranberry Lake home Tuesday evening May 18, 2010. A memorial service will be held this summer which Cranberry Lake friends can attend. Details from the family will be announced at a later date."
Included a note from John A. Nolan
"Mr. Splete, here are the funeral arrangements for Joseph Nolan: Saturday and Sunday viewing at Auchmoody Funeral Home on Main Street, Fishkill NY 12524 from the hours of 2:00- 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 on both days. There will be a mass at St. Marys church (also in Fishkill) at 10:00 am. At my mothers request please send donations instead of flowers to the Cranberry Lake Fire Dept/ Rescue Squad and St. Huberts Church in Star Lake. Thank you for your support in our time of mourning."

01/29/2010 William “Bill” L. LaFrance, age 53, of Cranberry Lake passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
01/21/2010 Dick Reynolds' Funeral Services will be February 22 at St. Huberts Church in Star Lake. Donations may be made, in his name, to the Cranberry Lake Fire Department.

07/18/07 Note to All: Here is a link to the very nice article about the Cranberry Lake Boat Club Show that appeared in the Watertown Daily Times on July 1, 2007 - reprinted with permission. There were 10 boats, with many people, in the parade.
01/26/09 FYI: Airxcess is a broadband company interested in providing internet access to Cranberry Lake. They are already in Star Lake. And two weeks ago they reported getting a grant for the CL project. They suggest that they need a number of interested prospects for their service, costing as little as $30 per month, before they will proceed. The way to indicate your interest is to go to www.airxcess.com and click on the link "Not a customer. Please fill out the information request form." We need about twenty-five people to show interest. Please do so, if indeed you are interested. (Seasonal residents may be pleased to know that there is a minimal charge of about $6 per month to put your service in hibernation. Then there is no re-startup cost when you resumeservice.) If you have any questions or suggestions, the web site should address most of them. You might also contact Chuck Yartz at cy@northnet.org .
01/26/09 FYI: Verizon is not indicating much enthusiasm for presenting the cell tower proposal to the Adirondack Park Agency. If you have any contacts with Verizon who might be able to lend some encouragement to the company, please consider asking for it. Or tell Chuck Yartz about them, so he may contact them.
