Biography for Chris Ford

I grew up in Binghamton NY. After high school I went to SUNY Binghamton from 1978-1982 and received a BS degree in Economics with a Math minor. I continued on at SUNY Binghamton and received an MBA with a concentration in finance in 1984. In the summer of 1984 I rode my bicycle cross-country from Binghamton NY to California.

I moved to Washington DC in October 1984 and got a job in customer service with Centec corporation. Centec created their own software and my job was to help people who had questions about the software. I worked at Centec for two years then moved to a company called Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). I worked as a cost analyst at SAIC. Our Clients included the Department of the Army at Fort Belvoir, the Department of the Navy in Crystal City and the Inspector Generals office in the Pentagon.

After four years in Washington I was fed up with "city life" and started looking for a more rural area. In 1988 I applied for a job Clinton Community College teaching computer applications and accounting. I have been at Clinton for the last 12 years and I really love teaching.

I am married and have two sons. The one in the picture above is Benjamin. His older brother is James. One of the reasons I moved to Plattsburgh is because of lake Champlain. I am a real water fanatic. For fun I like to windsurf, snowboard and do triathlons.
