Classroom Connect on the Net

Classroom Connect Magazine is heading
an effort to allow K12 schools to have home
pages of no more than 100K for free
(See for details) and K12 students to post
their poems, essays, and
short stories. This site was set up for
those schools not having internet access,
but wanting to allow students to set
up a home page. Hundreds of schools
now have web pages as a
result. Also, links to international
sites may be taken.

- Web66 Home Page
Web66 is a project at the College of Education
at the University of Minnesota
to set up a means for K12 schools to obtain
internet access through the WWW. It is named after
the U.S. Highway Route 66 immortalized in song.
Through Web66, K12 educators can set up their own
internet servers, link to Web66, and find K12 resources.
The Web66 home page contains links to a K12 school
registry, Hillside Elementary School (pilot school
for Web66), what's new, instructions for setting up
an Internet server on a Macintosh computer, instructions
for setting up LANs and WANs with internet access
capabilities, and HTML fragments and pages
that can be used in setting up a home page. Other
links are provided which provide additional information
about Web66 or the University of Minnesota.
The K12 school registry is VERY comprehensive
including schools from all over the world.
