Classroom Connect Magazine is heading an effort to allow K12 schools to have home pages of no more than 100K for free (See for details) and K12 students to post their poems, essays, and short stories. This site was set up for those schools not having internet access, but wanting to allow students to set up a home page. Hundreds of schools now have web pages as a result. Also, links to international sites may be taken.

  23. Web66 Home Page Web66 is a project at the College of Education at the University of Minnesota to set up a means for K12 schools to obtain internet access through the WWW. It is named after the U.S. Highway Route 66 immortalized in song. Through Web66, K12 educators can set up their own internet servers, link to Web66, and find K12 resources. The Web66 home page contains links to a K12 school registry, Hillside Elementary School (pilot school for Web66), what's new, instructions for setting up an Internet server on a Macintosh computer, instructions for setting up LANs and WANs with internet access capabilities, and HTML fragments and pages that can be used in setting up a home page. Other links are provided which provide additional information about Web66 or the University of Minnesota. The K12 school registry is VERY comprehensive including schools from all over the world.
