PRELUDE AND MOMENTS OF SILENT MEDITATION

WELCOME - RECOGNITION OF VISITORS - ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP

Let us give ear to His teaching - LET US INCLINE OUR EARS TO THE WORDS OF HIS MOUTH

We will not hide His words from our children - WE WILL TELL THEM TO THE COMING GENERATION

We will tell the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might - AND THE WONDERS HE HAS DONE.

HYMN - 100 God whose love is reigning o'er us" (verses 1,3,5)

UNISON PRAYER OF APPROACH: Blessed Lord Jesus, we come into Your presence this morning grateful for our salvation. As we worship You, we ask that Your Holy Spirit will guide us in the way of truth; and that we shall count ourselves as dead to sin. Help us to become more holy in our words, and in our acts, for we desire to glorify You in our lives. Amen.

LORD'S PRAYER IN UNISON

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. AMEN

GLORIA PATRI - 70

OLD TESTAMENT - Exodus 17:1-7

NEW TESTAMENT - Romans 6:1-14

GOSPEL - Matthew 21:23-32

HYMN SELECTION

CONCERNS AND PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND INTERCESSION

HYMN - 154 "Have Thine Own Way, Lord"

SERMON "Alive to God" We have been born again to new life in Christ. This means we now live under God's grace and are free from the effect of the law. But this doesn't mean we may continue in sin; rather, now we are alive to God, we are obligated to holiness. Set free from sin, our lives ought to show to others the fruits of that holiness.

OFFERING - DOXOLOGY (95)

HYMN - 117 "O God Our Help in Ages Past" (omit verses 3, 4)
