Mother Cabrini Shrine is located seven miles west of Peru, NY on the east side of Terry Mountain. A magnificient view of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont welcome you to the peace and tranquility of this mountain retreat.

This shrine to Mother Cabrini was built from local stone by a native of Peaseville, NY in 1947. The stone stations of the cross surrounding the shrine were built over the next few years.

Mother Cabrini Shrine is on the grounds of St. Patrick's Church. St. Patrick's Church has recently celebrated its 150th anniversary and is a mission parish of St. Augustine's Church in Peru, NY.

St. Francis Xavier Cabrini

St. Francis Xavier Cabrini was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States to care for the Italian immigrants. She started hospitals, orphanages and schools throughout North and South America before her death in Chicago.

Mother Cabrini was the first American citizen to be cannonized.
