November 18 , 2001  This is What Democracy Looks Like

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
                                              -Margaret Mead

THIS is what democracy looks like!!

this protester stands on a wall in front of a Canadian Parliament building with riot police in the backgroundaround noon on Saturday

The story of my adventures is Ottawa is  turning out to be so long that I have split it up. You can navigate to all the parts from this page. I will slowly add to the site as I get more time. Please check back. Also I really want other perspectives of this story and other protests that happened this past weekend.

Friday: crossing the border, first rally, black block leads snake march, and Starhawk ritual.

Saturday: the march

Sunday: In my ineloquent tirade, this iswhat I forgot to say. None of this worksif we don't all work at it. It willtake everyone to make a better world.I don't say you should be out thereprotesting. I say you should become informedand then decide if and how youshould act. When you act, remember to continuethis dialogue. Talk to everyone you know about it. Talk to the people whoyou don't think will be respective. Get to know other opinions and views.Even people with opposing views will learn simply from having a respectfulconversation.
