Best Ever Burger Buns
- 3/4 to 1 cup water (130F)
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- Add 1 cup of flour, sugar, salt, yeast. Mix in butter and egg. Add water, mix with mixer at low speed for 1 minute.
Mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Mix in enough flour to make the dough easy to handle.
Knead for about 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
- Spray dough with cooking spray to cover and let rise in a bowl for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
- Gently deflate the dough, and divide it into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball.
Place the buns on a lightly reased baking sheet, cover, and let rise for about an hour, until very puffy.
- Bake the buns in a preheated 375F oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden. Cool on a rack. Brush with melted butter.
