Interested in Younger Members' issues? Register with the bulletin board at AAUW.org and participate.

A Younger Members e-mail list is forming

To participate, notify Sarah Rose or send a message to "aauw-ym-subscribe@yahoogroups.com". "Younger" members will lead the discussion; it is also open to those members are interested in recruiting and retaining younger members but who are, themselves, over 40. Eventually the YM community will decide whether both the list and the bulletin board are required.

IFUW Conference Travelships

The AAUW Educational Foundation announces the availability of two $2,500 stipends for AAUW members to attend the 28th Triennial International Federation of University Women (IFUW) Conference in Perth, Western Australia, Aug. 4-10, 2004. The application postmark deadline is Feb. 10, 2004.

Because of Betty Cook Rottmann's past participation in IFUW, the Missouri State Division Educational Foundation chair, Educational Foundation committee, and other board members established the Missouri State Division IFUW Travelship in her name in 1977. The travelship has allowed women to attend each triennial IFUW Conference since 1980. The travelship funds AAUW members' conference attendance and encourages recipients to share their international experience with AAUW branches and communities.

During the IFUW meetings, awardees are expected to work with the U.S. delegation and attend specific meetings of the delegation, network with representatives of other federations, attend orientation meetings and workshops or both, and attend other assigned sessions. Awardees must submit a comprehensive follow-up report to the Educational Foundation with copies to their branch and state presidents.
