Wolf's Tale
Traveling through the seas of life,
these turbulent waters are my life.
Unchartered waterway, never before traveled.
Unmapped road of hard, loose gravel.
Overgrown field, weeds in thickened plots.
Cast iron fencing, bars of sickened thoughts.
There is a thin line between insanity and genius.
Shifting shades of gray convenience.
When the sun sets, and the moons on rise,
the world goes deaf to your feeble cries.
The birds take flight, the animals run,
I go to sleep, the day is done.
I arise among the trees,
mornings mist covers the ground.
I arise among the living,
falling back without a sound.
The sun's first light hits my eyes,
blasting reality into my head.
My body, cold as my stomach ties,
I must hunt my morning bread.
Many companions, I've had before,
have traveled beside me, not anymore.
They always seek salvation in the hearts of men,
not anymore, never again.
It started with a love so true.
We both were happy, yet I never knew.
The man to take her away,
the same man's blood on my hands.
A tragic fight, the casualties two,
life sucks, let me tell you.
Moon lit lobby, my wife and that guy,
Talking shit, I punched his eye.
.45 caliber, at my heart he aimed,
pulled the trigger, her in it's way.
The bullet broke through,
splattered by blood, scramble the brains,
I exploded into blind rage.
Ripping him limb from limb,
missing flesh from where I bit him.
The shot since fired, the blood since splattered,
people came to see what was the matter.
A bloody man, standing above a bloodier
mass of quivering meat. I stomped out
the last of his life with my bare feet.
People watching from the street,
lights flashing from beyond.
No one saw my face I hope,
before cops get here I'll be gone.
My face on TV, how could it be?
I thought nobody saw me.
No need to worry, looking for me,
not a picture, composite drawing.
Hiding in the sewers, tucked in shadows,
Life is over, ending I suppose.
Oh my god, I must be crazy,
I must free myself, I can't be lazy.
Looking for money, I need to eat,
Plenty to eat, living well,
won't be caught, no one lives to tell,
Now I have a gun, plenty of shells.
I must leave this city in which I dwell,
must leave this pit of flaming hell.
move to the country, live in the woods,
life will be great, I won't be misunderstood.
Death toll, sixty three,
enough for a new house.
A couple more guns for me,
and I'm getting the hell out.
A new picture, more detailing,
all the bodies found,
Fingerprints, a match,
I must get out of town.
Cops at every corner,
pigs in every alley.
FBI at every sewer,
Like a fucking rally.
Lights are flashing everywhere I look,
looking for me, to avenge the lives I took.
Now don't get me wrong,
I'm not invisible.
A few cops did find me,
but now they're unidentifiable.
My teeth have become better than guns,
My instincts are sharp, damn this is fun.
The taste of blood has graced my lips,
too many times for me to list.
The smell of fear is a sweet scent now,
I'm an insane animal on the prowl.
Body count is immense,
the cops are closing in,
I can take six at a time,
but never ten.
The cops like explorers,
always stumble.
I've marked my territory,
the urban jungle.
Miles from any forest,
yet my speed is great.
If I don't stop to kill,
I'll be there late today.
They call me a beast,
I'm really a man.
No, all fours,
knees and hands.
Take the sewer route,
I must hurry.
Haven't killed in an hour,
I'm beginning to worry.
The smell of grass fills the air,
swaying trees is all I hear.
A sweet scent of squirrels down there,
the smell of fear everywhere!
They beat me to it,
made it before me.
Guns at their side,
I must keep hiding.
They're killing animals,
throwing them about.
Using piles of meat to lure me out.
I don't eat unless I kill it myself,
I won't kill unless you danger my health.
I feel danger, time to kill. What a thrill.
Moving at night,
Avoiding light.
Keeping the cops in sight,
the time is right.
Twenty left, five awake, fifteen asleep,
the waking ones,
barely on their feet.
Kill one after another,
silent and swift.
Five down, fifteen left.
Kill them all in their sleep,
dragging them by their feet.
Two are left, they can wait,
It's been six hours since I last ate.
Feasting on the pile of meat.
Ignoring the soon dead cops that sleep.
All attention turned toward the feast.
Blood flowing beneath my feet.
Nothing can stop me as I eat.
Nothing but a bullet,
Penetrating my thigh.
They advance,
thinking I will die.
Wrong. Two-one, new feast,
replenishing the beast.
The moon is full,
the sky a fire.
All the meat my heart desires.
The wound bleeding,
warming my leg.
Can't fight a throbbing pain in my head.
My body numbs,
No pain as I feast,
it tingles the more I eat.
I pause a moment to look around,
twenty bodies upon the ground.
A solemn cry fills the air,
a wolf's cry, I'm not scared.
They come out from the forest,
the Alpha-male.
Several others follow his trail.
They feast on the warm flesh of man I provided.
A wolf pack, power, undivided.
The moonlight hits me with a blast,
The Alpha-male blocks my path.
Like clay combined, we become one.
Man and wolf, the fear is done.
Wolf, pure instinct from fangs.
Man, pure hate from his hands.
Wolf and man. Scourge of the lands.
