I am a Centurion in the command of Legion XX Valeris Victorious, We are stationed upon Ceasar Hadrians wall. I am what is refered to as a Senator in training, while I am a soldier in most things, I am also leaning the fine arts of statesmanship.
I was born to senator Vesapsius Aurus and his wife in the year 100 A.D. unfortunately my mother died in giving birth to me. My father is still haunted by the fact that senatorial business required he be away from his family when I was born. Like all young romans, I often went to the colloseum to view the fights there in, it was here I gained a respect for the skills of swordsmanship, I was also of course inspired when our Military leaders would come home and have the large victory parades as is our traditions, It was after one of them, that I told my father i wanted to enter the legions.
Father wanting to protect his son as much as possible made it eveident that I was a senators son, and as such would be taking his place in the senate when he retired, and thus I was given the classification as a senator in training, and thus afford certain advantages. I made my way upwards in the legion, even though my fighting skills were only passable by some soldiers estimates.
Eventually I was taken under the wing of my commanding officer, one Stevunus Champus. I have learned to fight well under his tutelage, and have even been promoted to centurion, but perhaps most important is that he has made me his aide de Campe. I hope that I may continue to grow and learn under his tutelage. It was the Ides of May 136 when my commander decided I was not only a worthy clerical and engineering assistant, But i was worthy of being taken under his direct care for teaching in further levels of the Arts of War. He has made me for lack of a better term his squire.
