Yummy Dog Biscuit Recipe

2 cups white flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup chopped, unsalted sunflower seeds
2 Tblsp safflower oil or creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup molasses
2 eggs mixed with 1/4 cup milk
Mix dry ingredients and seeds together. Add oil (or peanut butter), molasses and milk/egg mixture. Dough will be sticky, especially
if using safflower oil. Knead dough a few minutes on flour-covered surface. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut into shapes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes - depending on thickness and size of biscuit. To make biscuits harder, leave unheated oven
overnight.
I usually make two batches of biscuits - one with small biscuits for everyday treats and training and one with big biscuits
for special treats. The small ones are peanut butter biscuits and the large ones with safflower oil. I use a film can to cut out the
smaller ones and whatever I can find for the larger ones. Safflower oil is expensive, so peanut butter may be a better choice.
My dogs love them both! Angus knows when I'm baking his biscuits and sits by me while
I make the dough. I know exactly what is going into the biscuits too.
