The Sci-Tech Center is a museum in downtown Watertown, NY with over 40 interactive hands-on science exhibits.  The museum is also a Center for workshops, tours and classes. 
 
Workshops are offered periodically at the Center and change every week.  Check the Watertown Daily Times for workshops being offered, or call The Sci-Tech Center at 315-788-1340. 

Tours can be provided for groups visiting the Center.  Trained volunteer tour guides explain the scientific principles demonstrated by the interactive exhibits located in the museum.  Call the Center at 315-788-1340 to book a tour. 

Note: tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance. 

Classes for grades K-6 match the New York State Elementary Science Framework and were designed with Silver-Burdett Science Curriculum in mind.  The Center distinguishes itself with instructors who have business, educational and parenting backgrounds. 

To register for a class, call the Center at 315-788-1340 at least 2 weeks in advance.  Most classes start as low as $20.00.

Weather Watch

Discover how "Robby", our magnetic robot, can help you absorb magnetism.  Students take home their own homemade magnet creature Learn about the dinosaurs and create a geological dig site.  Students take home fossils!  Watch a room full of rockets break gravitational pull and learn Newton's third law.  Each student goes home with a rocket launched in class! Develop a class of 'professional' weather watchers.  Students make Miss Cirrus and Mr. Cumulus face masks to take home!

Linking Levers

Help the study of matter come alive!  Students make 'goo' - a polymer cross between a solid and a liquid.  Assemble a race track to study motion, inertia and acceleration!  Study sound with a cello, fife, fiddle and pan flute.  Students take home an instrument they make!  Successfully combine science and art to build a lever in class!
